Which cruise line/ship should I choose?

My husband and I are booking a cruise for August 2009 and I wanted to find a cruise ship that has pretty much everything! We are big kids, water rides, vollyball, movies etc. I know Carnival’s ships have water rides, but I am also hearing from people who cruise alot that Royal Carribean is the cruise line to go with. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which cruise line or cruise ship we should book? Thank you in advance!!!

sounds like you might like royal carribean cruise line.

but it depends on what itinerary you might like , what type of vacation you are looking for. a relaxing time and or many many activities to fill your days. i would suggest looking at cruisecritic.com

and do some reading on what others have experienced. You might have a better idea then, of what you like and want on your vacation.

What should I wear in hawaii.?

Im going on a hawaiian cruise and i was wondering if it would be to hot to wear capris with like a halter top. I have all these cute long halter tops and they look funky with shorts and i was wondering if it would be to hot to wear capris?

If it was me, I'd probably overheat in capris, unless they were linen or 100% lightweight cotton and baggy. I can see what you mean about the shorts looking weird.

Why not get some cute, cotton, airy 3/4 length (i.e pretty much capri-length) skirts to wear with the halter tops? You'll continue the "flowy" look, and casual skirts are soooo comfy and breathable. They're everywhere in the stores, in all kinds of solids/patterns, and they can be dirt cheap.

I had went on Royal Carribbean the Sovereign of the Seas three times and the Majesty of the Seas once, and Carnivals the Jubilee once. You will have a ball a cruise is a great way to have a fun vacation and get away from everything.

Cruise for a disabled senior citizen?

has anyone ever cruised in the disability suite? I'm considering the Holland America line out of Tampa. Would I be able to get into all the rooms ? What about the 2-story dining room? Are any of the shore excursions accessible? Is it possible to make a special request to have some of the food items prepared without any red [e[[er or other hot spices? I have a problem with them

All cruise lines have special cabins for people in wheel chairs. Also, all of the main facilites will be accessable. As far as shore excursions, obviously it depends on the excursion. Most will be wheel chair accessable but there will be a few that you won't be able to do. You can make special requests for dinner, not sure if they can accommodate for personal preferences. I do know that they can do diabetic diets, low fat etc. Also, there are many, many places to eat on the ship. The main dining room will have 3 choices for dinner each night and you can pretty much always get steak or chicken every night even if it is not on the menu. Also there is a large buffet area which many different types of food. The dining room should have a ramp for your wheel chair. HAL has the oldest demographics of all the mass market cruise lines. I am sure that they are very used to accomodating people in wheel chairs.

I am 18 years old and going on a Eastern Caribbean cruise. We are stoping at these 3 islands (Nassau, St. Thomas, St. Marten). Does anyone have previous experiences? Since it is in International Waters and on the Royal Caribbean cruise line you can be 18 with a sign form?

It's 21 & up to drink on the ship. I just got back from a Carnival cruise this past Monday.

However, there was a girl at my dinner table who was 20 and she drank the whole time on the ship. Her bf, who was 25, just always got the drinks. No one seemed to care.

Kid free cruise in April?

I am planning to go on a 3 night cruise in April if possible and was wondering which line you think would be best for not having to see many children. I have been on disney and have almost never seen kids cause of the kid activity centers does Carnival or Celebrity offer similar things? I can't afford Disney right now.

i think all cruise lines offer a kids program to keep the little tike's busy. and try to cruise before spring break there all in school but at any rate good luck and have a good cruise.

I am trying to find an Alaskan cruise for me and my fiances honeymoon. Does anyone have any suggestions?

We have to go in Sept. We are trying for Sept 8th or so. I know that that is one of the better times to go to be able to see the Northern Lights. How cold is it?

Question about disembarking on a cruise ship?

Ok, lets try this again….. I am taking an NCL cruise around the Hawaiian islands in February. The ship docks at several ports RIGHT AT THE DOCK….no little boats and there is no customs to clear. The ship arrives in Kauai at 8am….I need to be off of it at 10am in order to do a 10:30am excursion (not booked thru the cruise line) is this doable? Additionally, in Maui, the ship arrives at 8am and departs at 6pm the second day. On the morning of the second day, I plan to do the sunrise bike down the volcanoe so I need to get off the ship at 1am…..will this be a problem to get off that early in the morning? Thanks in advance!

If the ship docks at 8:00am then you should be able to disembark around 9:00am. It usually takes an hour at the ports of call for the ship to prepare to allow passengers to disembark. You might check the excursions on the cruise lines website to see when their first excursion is. Keep in mind that the people who book excursions, even when they are not through the cruise lines know basically when they can start handling guests, so you are safe.

When the ship is docked overnight you can disembark at any time during the time it is docked as long as you are back on the ship 1 hour before it departs then you will be OK. So enjoy your bike ride.

This summer I'm going on a cruise on the Grand Princess Cruise Ship… I've gone to the Cruise Line website and have the book about the line, but I couldn't really find that much information on it. What all is there to do on it…preferably (I really doubt that's spelt right!) for teens? I know there is a teen deck, but what is there to do on it?

I was on the Grand Princess a couple years ago. It's a very nice ship. I'm not a teen so I didn't spen a lot of time in the teen areas, but I have kids that spent a lot of time there. They have a cool dance place, and next to that is a video aracade with about 50 games. They also had there own drink and snack bar. They did have teen events everyday, like movies, dances, contests, etc.

But you won't be limited to just the teen area. The ship is full of other things. They had a climbing wall, basketball courts, paddle ball courts (kind of like mini-tennis), shuffleboard, a giant chess board, about 10 different pools, outdoor movie theater, and of course eating places, etc.

You'll have a blast!
